Kodul water kiosk, Kenya

A water kiosk with a well that provides drinking water to appr. 400 people.

In partnership with the local community, we are supporting the development of a sustainable water kiosk in Kodul, Homa Bay. The project improves access to clean water, reduces waterborne illnesses, and frees up time that women and children would otherwise spend fetching water, allowing them to attend school and focus on daily activities. By strengthening local agriculture and resilience, the initiative ensures that the benefits of clean water are long-lasting and fully owned by the community.
The site is located in the Kodul village in Homa Bay County, Kenya. We build the water kiosk from the ground up — drilling the well, installing solar panels and a water tank, and constructing the concrete kiosk. Just as importantly, we support local women in running and maintaining the kiosk independently.

Preschool education for children with disadvantaged backgrounds.

Our institution, the "ALIYA Children Development Center," was founded by our association to provide free preschool education for children from disadvantaged backgrounds. With a focus on holistic development, our goal is to promote academic, social, and practical life skills, through art, music, English, Sinhala and gardening programs. The center serves as both an educational institution and a safe space for children to explore their talents and receive essential support for a positive start in life.
The preschool is located in Mattegoda, Sri Lanka. We provide free education for underprivileged children from the area in the subjects: English, Sinhala, art, gardening and music.

A safe space for elderly people to live in dignity.

Our first project started in 2020 supporting an elderly home near Colombo, Sri Lanka. We assisted in providing basic provisions such as food, blankets, and utilities. Connecting with the residents, understanding their needs, and witnessing their gratitude is truly heartwarming.
The elderly home is located in Mattegoda, Sri Lanka. Approximately 30 men and women live in the home. We provide food, bedding, kitchen appliances, and electricity to the facility.

A medical services center and a sanctuary for injured and abused animals.

We support the BawBaw animal hospital by providing vaccines, sterilization supplies, medication and food. Many animals are street dogs that had accidents resulting in loss of limbs or paralysis. The hospital offers medical assistance, urgent rescue services, spay/neuter programs, educational workshops, and a sanctuary for permanently disabled dogs. Here, they find a loving home with caring individuals for the first time in their lives.
The animal hospital is located in Kurunegala, Sri Lanka. The hospital takes care of appr. 85 dogs, pigs and cows. Animals receive medical assistance, rescue services, vaccines, medicine, food and spaying or neutering. The hospital also provides locals with educational workshops for proper animal care.
