DESIGN FOR THE GOOD builds partnerships through art and philanthropy to develop, fund and implement humanitarian projects with local partners.

We believe lasting impact starts with strong relationships. Rather than simply funding projects, we bring together artists, supporters, local communities and partners to develop initiatives that are locally rooted, collaboratively implemented and designed for long-term impact.

The Story.

DESIGN FOR THE GOOD was founded by Julia Burkard in 2020 with the vision of creating sustainable humanitarian impact by bringing together art, philanthropy and people.

After travelling to Sri Lanka and with the COVID-19 pandemic, Julia began supporting local families, children and elderly people. What started as a personal initiative soon evolved into a broader concept: using art and storytelling to connect people, build partnerships and mobilise support for humanitarian projects.

Drawing on her background in design, communication, business development and entrepreneurship, Julia developed a model that combines charity exhibitions, strategic partnerships and local collaboration. Rather than simply fundraising, the organisation develops and implements projects together with trusted local partners, creating long-term relationships and sustainable impact.

Today, DESIGN FOR THE GOOD brings together an international network of volunteers and local partners across Switzerland, US, Canada, Sri Lanka and Kenya. Led by founder Julia Burkard, the organisation builds partnerships across philanthropy, business and the non-profit sector to develop and implement humanitarian initiatives with sustainable social impact.
